MITA State Self-Assessment (SS-A) Workgroup

The State Self-Assessment (SS-A) Workgroup is spearheading the development of a re-imagined SS-A process that is outcome based, less burdensome, and more useful to states and CMS. The SS-A Workgroup will work towards achieving the MITA 4.0 goal by developing a new SS-A tool and co-developing a new maturity model with MITA NextGen.

Goals

  • Make MITA more meaningful
  • Reduce burden on State Medicaid Agencies
  • Enable automation
  • Further MITA's integration with the Advance Planning Document (APD), certification, and other enterprise-wide activities
  • Release guidance that is aligned with current trends in healthcare and IT
  • Develop an Outcomes-based Planning Process
  • Develop the MITA Maturity Model (co-developed with MITA NextGen Workgroup)
  • Release an SS-A Tool and Assessment Process

The membership of the SS-A Workgroup comprises of subject-matter experts from states, federal agencies, industry, vendors, and technology integrators.
